How to Use the PDF Splitter

Upload a PDF file, then select which pages to extract. You can type page ranges (like 1-5, 8, 10-12) or click individual page buttons to toggle them. Click "Extract & Download" to save the selected pages as a new PDF.

Page Selection

  • Range format — Use "1-5" to select pages 1 through 5.
  • Individual pages — Use "3, 7, 11" to pick specific pages.
  • Combined — Mix both: "1-3, 5, 8-10".
  • Click buttons — Toggle individual page numbers on or off.

How It Works

The tool uses pdf-lib to read your PDF, copy the selected pages into a new document, and save it. Everything runs entirely in your browser — no server uploads.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I extract a single page?

Yes. Enter just the page number (e.g., "5") or click the page button to select it, then download.

Does splitting preserve the original PDF quality?

Yes. Pages are copied as-is with all content, images, and formatting intact.

Can I split a password-protected PDF?

No. The PDF must be unlocked first before pages can be extracted.

Is there a page limit?

No hard limit. Large PDFs may take a moment to process since everything runs in your browser.

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. All processing happens locally in your browser. Your PDF never leaves your device.
