How to Use the Image Watermark Tool
Upload an image, customize your watermark text, and apply it with full control over font size, color, opacity, and position.
Watermark Controls
- Text — Enter any text for your watermark (brand name, copyright notice, URL, etc.)
- Font Size — Adjust from 8px to 200px to match your image size
- Opacity — Control transparency from 1% (nearly invisible) to 100% (fully opaque). 30-50% is typical for subtle watermarks.
- Color — Pick any color using the color picker or enter a hex code. White and black are most common.
- Position — Place the watermark at Top Left, Top Right, Center, Bottom Left, or Bottom Right.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a good opacity for watermarks?
For subtle branding, 30-50% opacity works well. The watermark is visible but does not overpower the image. For stronger protection, use 60-80% opacity.
Can I add an image watermark instead of text?
This tool supports text watermarks only. For image-based watermarks (logos), you would need a full image editor.
Does the watermark protect my copyright?
A visible watermark discourages unauthorized use but does not provide legal copyright protection. For legal protection, register your copyright with the appropriate authority.
Is my image uploaded to a server?
No. All watermarking happens locally in your browser using the Canvas API. Your image never leaves your device.
