Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how ZeroUtil ("we", "us", "our") handles information when you use zeroutil.com and its tools (the "Site"). Our goal is to keep the Site useful while collecting as little personal data as possible.

1. Who we are

ZeroUtil operates the Site. For any privacy-related request, contact us at support@zeroutil.com. This address is the single point of contact for access, deletion, correction, portability, and opt-out requests described below.

2. What we process locally (in your browser)

The vast majority of tools on the Site run entirely in your web browser. For those tools, files you select, text you paste, images you upload, and any other content you feed into a tool are processed on your device. For browser-based tools, we do not upload, store, log, or transmit the content you process. This covers most tools listed under /categories, including text processors, QR code generators, developer utilities, and most image and PDF tools. Each tool page states whether it runs in your browser or uses our servers.

2a. What we process on our servers (heavy media tools)

A small number of tools - primarily video, audio, and some PDF utilities - cannot run in a browser and instead upload your file over HTTPS to our backend at api.zeroutil.com (hosted in the EU). The file is processed there, the result is made available to you via a signed download link, and both the upload and the result are automatically deleted within 15 minutes. We do not read, analyse, share, or retain the content of those files beyond that processing window. Every tool that uses this server-side processing displays a clear notice above its workspace.

2b. The DemoVoice browser extension

We also publish DemoVoice, a browser extension for Chrome, Edge and Firefox that downloads a FACEIT Counter-Strike 2 demo from the match room, unpacks it and reads the player slots out of it so you can build the tv_listen_voice_indices commands. DemoVoice has no server of its own. The demo is downloaded from FACEIT's own storage and unpacked and read inside your browser, on your device. It does not upload, store, log or transmit your demo to us or to any third party - including the api.zeroutil.com backend described in section 2a, which the extension never uses.

Your demo library, your selections and your settings are kept in your browser and are never sent to us. The extension asks for access to faceit.com and FACEIT's demo storage only, and for notifications only if you switch them on. The full detail, permission by permission, is in the DemoVoice privacy policy.

We previously published ZeroUtil Images, an image-conversion extension. It has been retired and is no longer distributed or updated.

3. Information we do collect

Even though your tool content stays in your browser, visiting the Site involves some data collection that is standard for a modern website:

Log and device data. Your IP address, browser user agent, operating system, referring URL, and request timestamps, as automatically sent by your browser to our infrastructure provider Cloudflare.
Usage events. Aggregated pageviews captured by Google Analytics (described below). We do not attach your name, email, or account information to these events.
Error events. Uncaught JavaScript errors and unhandled promise rejections that occur on the Site, to help us fix bugs.

3a. Newsletter

If you enter your email address into a newsletter form on the Site, we process that address for one purpose: sending you the newsletter. Nothing else is collected with it - no name, no company, no profile.

Double opt-in. Submitting the form does not subscribe you. We email you a confirmation link, and your address is stored only once you open it. Until then nothing is written anywhere, and a link that is never opened expires after 7 days.
Who stores it. Confirmed addresses are held by Resend, our email provider, and are used only to send ZeroUtil mail. We do not sell, rent, or share the list, and we do not use it for advertising.
Leaving. Every email carries a one-click unsubscribe link. You can also ask us at support@zeroutil.com and we will remove the address.
Legal basis (GDPR). Consent, given by confirming the link (Art. 6(1)(a)). You may withdraw it at any time by unsubscribing; withdrawal does not affect mail sent before it.

3b. ZeroUtil accounts

An account is optional: every tool works without one. If you sign in, we keep your saved CS2 demo results so they do not disappear after 15 minutes.

What we store. Your email address (if you sign in with Google or an email link), your display name and avatar (a link to your Steam or Google picture, or a small image you upload), your FACEIT player id (if you sign in with FACEIT; your FACEIT level and ELO are read from FACEIT's public data when you open your account page, not stored), your SteamID (if you sign in with Steam), your saved demo results (the file name, score, player list and voice timeline), and the extracted voice tracks of each saved demo. For each signed-in session we also store the IP address and browser user agent it started from, to protect the account.
Who processes it. Google when you sign in with Google; Valve when you sign in with Steam; FACEIT when you sign in with FACEIT; Resend, which sends sign-in emails; and Cloudflare R2, which stores the voice tracks. Account records are kept in our own database on our own server.
How long. Saved demo results stay until you delete them or your account. Voice tracks are deleted automatically 30 days after you save them. Session records end when you sign out or after 30 days without use. Encrypted database backups are kept for 30 days.
Shared results. If you choose "Share results" on a saved demo, anyone with that link sees its file name, score, the in-game player names and how long each player talked, plus your display name and picture. Voice tracks are never shared. The link works until you stop sharing or delete the demo, and is kept out of search engines.
Deleting. Your account page lets you delete any saved demo, and "Delete account" removes the account, every saved demo and every voice track at once. Copies inside backups age out within 30 days.
Legal basis (GDPR). Performance of the service you asked for by creating the account (Art. 6(1)(b)).

4. Cookies and tracking technologies

The Site uses cookies and similar technologies (localStorage, pixels) for analytics, advertising, and security. The table below names every third-party service that may set a cookie through the Site and why.

Google Analytics / Google Ads (gtag.js). Audience measurement and advertising conversion tracking. Sets cookies such as _ga and _gid. See Google's Privacy Policy.
Google AdSense. Not currently active on the Site — no AdSense script is loaded and no ad units are served. Should display advertising be enabled in future, AdSense and its partners may set cookies (for example, IDE, __gads, __gpi) to measure ad impressions, prevent fraud, and select ads; the next section describes how that works and how to opt out.
ZeroUtil sign-in. Only if you sign in: zeroutil.session_token keeps you signed in (strictly necessary, httpOnly, up to 30 days), and zu_signed_in tells the page a session exists so signed-out visitors cost no extra request. Neither is used for advertising or analytics.
Cloudflare. Our infrastructure provider sets strictly necessary cookies such as __cf_bm (bot management) and, for some visitors, cf_clearance. These are used for security and availability and are not used for advertising or tracking across sites.

5. Third-party advertising (Google AdSense disclosure)

Sponsored placements. Some pages carry a paid placement from a single sponsor. It is a static, labelled card served from our own site: no third-party script, no cookie, no pixel, and no data about you is shared with the sponsor. Clicking its link takes you to the sponsor's site, where their own privacy policy applies. Every such link carries rel="sponsored" and every such card is labelled "Sponsored" in visible text. The rest of this section applies only if and when display advertising is enabled; it is not active today.

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables Google and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our Site and/or other sites on the Internet.

You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You may also opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info/choices (US / Digital Advertising Alliance) or www.youronlinechoices.eu (EU).

Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads; some of the partners used on this Site are listed in Google's ad technology providers documentation.

6. Your rights under the GDPR (EU / UK)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have the following rights regarding personal data we process about you:

Access - ask what we hold about you.
Rectification - correct inaccurate data.
Erasure - ask us to delete your data (the "right to be forgotten").
Restriction - ask us to limit how we use your data.
Portability - receive your data in a machine-readable format.
Objection - object to processing based on legitimate interests.
Withdraw consent - where processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, email support@zeroutil.com. You also have the right to complain to your local supervisory authority if you believe we have not handled your data properly.

7. Your rights under the CCPA / CPRA (California)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to request deletion, and the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information as those terms are defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act.

We do not sell your personal information. We do allow third-party advertising partners (such as Google) to use cookies on this Site for advertising purposes, which may qualify as "sharing" under the CPRA. You can opt out at any time via the Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info/choices links above, or by emailing support@zeroutil.com.

8. Children's privacy (COPPA)

The Site is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact support@zeroutil.com and we will delete that information.

9. Data retention

For browser-based tools, content is processed on your device and never reaches our servers, so there is nothing for us to retain from your tool usage. For the server-side media tools described in section 2a, uploads and results are deleted automatically within 15 minutes and are not retained after that. Aggregated analytics data may be retained by Google for up to 26 months per their own retention policy. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them, and unconfirmed signups are never stored at all. Account data is kept as described in section 3b.

10. International transfers

The Site is delivered via Cloudflare's global network, which means the infrastructure serving your request may be located outside your country. Our advertising and analytics partner (Google) transfers data internationally under the safeguards described in their own privacy policies and, where applicable, Standard Contractual Clauses.

11. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be highlighted on the homepage or via a banner. Continued use of the Site after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
